Competition daylight hours, Friday – Sunday with finals Sunday

First light on a freezing winter morning on the long flat at Bungendore takes dedication to the sport of sheepdog trialling, and an excess of warm layers for handler to set out with their dog, to navigate three wily sheep through a complex set of obstacles. Each competitor effectively has a support team, the let-out; people who manage and release three sheep for each competitor, the box; people who keep time, the canteen; that sustains the workers and spectators with hearty food, and the judge; who must watch intently and score every misstep for each 15 minute trial. All of this is done throughout the daylight hours, each day of the trial.

Bungendore & District Sheepdog Association will be providing a limited canteen service - breakfast, morning teas and lunch. Come along and enjoy the experience. Each day competition starts around 7:30 am through to 4:30 pm with finals on Sunday.
Competitor information
Round up your trial dogs and join us at the Bungendore Sheepdog Trial 2022. This trial will be run on the NSW Sheepdog Trials rules. The mid winter trial with big frosts and waiting for the fog to lift before we can start is a true test of handler, dog and sheep against the elements.

Where to find the Trial....
The trial is held at Bungendore Showground, Matthews Lane, Bungendore NSW. The Showground is a short drive from the historic village of Bungendore, a charming rural escape in southwest NSW approximately 45min from Canberra.
